I am currently enrolled at The New School in New York City, where I am studying in a joint Bachelor's-Master's program. My undergraduate studies focus on sociology, politics, and creative writing, and my graduate studies are in policy analysis and management.

Experience

Before transferring to my current university, I attended Housatonic Community College, where I worked as a tutor in the Writing Across the Curriculum Center. There, I worked one-on-one with students on writing assignments across all subjects, including English, psychology, sociology, history, education, business, and human services. I got to help out with tasks such as thesis crafting, developing and structuring ideas, improving word choice, research, citation styling, grammar editing, and analytical reading. Additionally, I served as a supplemental instruction leader in a developmental English course for those students whose skills were not yet college level. In this role, I assisted the professor in providing in-classroom support to students, and I led weekly tutoring and study group sessions based on course material and students’ concerns. My love of tutoring comes from seeing students leave their sessions with a greater grasp on assignments, a thorough understanding of how to tackle them, and confidence in their ability to do well. Most of my tutoring experience comes from working with students on English and writing assignments. I also received A grades in my own English, literature, and composition courses.
